Excellent and Exciting! My thanks to Steve and Timi at MX Publishing for my review copy of this book. Holmes will never die as long as MX keeps going! This graphic novel is Pter Kopl at his best! The artwork is exaggerated but not clumsy. There is definitely skill behind each drawing. The story of the hound runs true to the original, but there is a twist that makes this version unique. There is also cameos by people from other stories, such as Igor the Hunchback as the driver that takes Watson, Sir Excellent and Exciting! Professor Challenger also makes a brief appearance. Look for a touch, a hint of another character I won’t spoil. And I swear in a rooftop chase scene, it looks like Holmes runs into Mary Poppins! Other adventures are referenced. For example, the code from The Adventure of the Dancing Men is framed on the wall of 221B. Holmes also receives his wax doppelganger in this story. Mrs. Hudson wonders if Holmes is back to his cocaine habit… I must not forget the newspaper that runs through these stories. The articles tell their own story and there is a distinct touch of steampunk. There’s even a running comic strip, The Barks of Muppy Pup! There are two very good twists to the tale, so keep an eye open! I give this Graphic Novel five stars! Quoth the Raven…

Petr Kopl's adaptation of "A Scandal in Bohemia" was the freshest as well as the most iconoclastic interpretation of the immortal work penned by Sir ACD. Unfortunately, such words can't be written about this work. In many senses it remains true to the original, and there it falls short of the graphic novel version created by Ian Edginton. It also tries to incorporate cross-references to other classic works, but this time they appear somewhat superfluous. Too bad that Kopl had set his standards so highly in his first work made available in English.

This is another very enjoyable Sherlock Holmes adaptation, the illustrations are as brilliant as the are in Petr Kopl's previous Sherlock Holmes adventure, "A Scandal in Bohemia". Like that book, there are little clues and literary allusions throughout the book, to other works Kopl has adapted (many unfortunately not yet available in English, so far as I can find)and other books published around the time the original story was written and set.

Sublime and absolutely incredible artwork!! Lovingly crafted with all that Holmes represents in the eyes of all who love the stories. Other iconic mysteries from the time also pop up though I shan't spoil the surprise. The detail in the background as well is just incredible

Not a literal adaptation of Sir Conan Doyle's text, and yet it is on point, extremely funny and the artwork is just amazing!

Well done take on a classic story. Great art that seems somehow more fitting to the world of Sherlock Holmes than any other.
