A perfectly fine, competently written, solid Conan adventure. A bit generic and forgettable, but also a quick read, which was nice.

I liked this better than Aaron's current Conan run. Where Aaron overthinks his Conan stories and tries to add twists and turns that don't always work, Duggan gives us a short, simple, brutal story where Conan is acting like Conan: seeking riches and chopping the shit out of snake men and sorcerers.

A fun quick story arc about Conan in search of a treasure while dealing with the emissaries of Khoga Thun. Savage is gonna be the title to publish longer arcs while Conan the Barbarian publishes short stories, they complement each other quite well, but I for one would like to see a starting point to something big, maybe a year one book? My first experience with Conan, unlike many readers, was the 80s cartoon, and this first volume was way too familiar to that, much of what happens here is in the A fun quick story arc about Conan in search of a treasure while dealing with the emissaries of Khoga Thun. "The Cimmerian did not seek devils -- but he did not step from his path to let one pass". Fun. I'ma Conan nut! I have been ever since I was little and as soon as Conan tore off guards finger to use the bone to pick the lock on his shackles I knew this book was gonna be faithful. Fun first volume.

This is... good? I didn't expect that, to say the least, because Conan stories are old as hell and as formulaic as they are old. There isn't a foe Conan can't punch or slice to death and not a companion that can't die by some plot detail, so the variety of the tales of Conan tends to suffer quite a bit. However, the excellently pompous writing and the gritty atmosphere do turn this into a very readable journey. I do see that the next arc is being handled by Meredith Finch so, uh, not expecting g This is... good? 3.75. Honestly it started strong and then I lost a little bit as we advanced into the plot which became more slashing and slashing. But honestly, I loved seeing a new view of Duggan when I am so used to him being Deadpool funny.

Was an okay read. Felt a bit rushed, characters really don’t have any personalities besides directing the story. This story is a pure Indiana Jones style treasure hunt adventure. No real depth, and Conan acts often out of character compared to his other stories. But it’s a fun read.

Conan is back in all his savage glory thanks to Marvel. A soon to be classic tale of sword, sorcery and treasure.

This reads a lot like the Conan comics of old. Great stuff. Well done, Duggan.

Mal comienzo. La magia subida al 1000%, Conan psicopático y la bibliotecaria guerrera vestida como una superheroína mutante ya da la campanada.

Crom! A ride that becomes sluggish and the lands groan from the weight.

A fun, quick sword and sorcery Conan yarn by the creative team of Gerry Duggan and Ron Garney. Fun for Conan fans. Recommended.
