Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.' In this we meet Luke and Tess..Ex childhood friends. Luke has no idea what he's done to make Tess despise him so much. I couldn't seem to recall what went wrong, where that friendship fell apart and turned into whatever this was. It's going to make for some awkward situations when they have to work together. Tess has harboured a crush towards Luke going back to their teens, the one night when she needed a shoulder to lean on he was there, though he may not have been sober, a stolen kiss which afterwards left her breathless and dreaming of the future. But that's not how this story goes. The next day Luke acted as though nothing had happened. All the Bennet siblings return to New York City and are all under one roof, all with the same end goal, to save their legacy. Lucas is the youngest, the carefree wild child living from one adventure to the next, not a care in the world. He was feral, a thing unbridled, without rules or restraint. He went where he wanted, did what he chose. Never, not in a million years, would he be called responsible or dependable. Whereas Tess on the other hand had the world on her shoulders, soul caregiver of her invalid father, missing out on so many years through responsibility. There were so many aspects of this story I enjoyed. Especially seeing the renovating of the flower shop from old and frumpy to glamorous and fresh. The author depicted it so vividly it was like I was actually there seeing it all unfolding. Throw in the slow steamy burn between Luke and Tess as he slowly made her change her mind about him had my eyes glued to the pages. This wasn't your typical romance, it was along the lines of an old classic re-telling of Jane Austin.

She will have a miscommunication or some type of assumptions between the couple laying the foundation for all of the ups, downs and "Come to Jesus" moments which we will delight following. Coming Up Roses does just that. Tess is smart, more than capable and has been the hands for the Mother who started the flower shop where she works. She learned everything from the woman and now does all of the arrangements. She also does her own thing with Instagram, photographing arrangements in a very special way drawing a huge following. She loves where she works, has friends and all is good until Luke shows up. Who is Luke, you may ask... Well, years ago Luke was Tess's crush for forever. He was one of the sons and when Tess was experiencing the most pain a person can bare, Luke made her feel better and shared an earthshattering kiss. Tess thought Luke finally understood she was meant for him and he was all in...Until the next day when he walked into the shop and then ignored her...going off with her best friend to swap spit in the hothouse. Yeah, Tess does not like Luke, does not want him around and thinks he is the worst... Until she realizes there is more to this grown-up Luke. Like his desire to help the family save the flower shop. Like his believing in her and letting her use her talents to promote the store. Like seeing him through a more mature view and giving him his due. We get a terrific story to watch and learn how to woo a woman. Luke is a delight and Tess becomes everything he wants. There are some serious hiccups for both of them and some of the plot and behavior wasn't my fav...But overall this story was just the perfect read. ~~~~~ Before Reading ~~~~~ Could a Cover be More Perfect!!! ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ Staci Hart... ARC provided by the author via Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review. I seriously am becoming addicted to all things Staci Hart! Ever since I read her Red Lipstick Coalition series, I just fell in love with her writing and her characters. Yes, I did see that Coming Up Roses is a spin-off of another series and yes, I still haven't read those books but I always get so giddy when a beloved author releases something new and I wanted to read it so badly. Thankfully, I did not need to read Staci's Austen series to enjoy reading this novel (though I will surely read those in the future!). Now, focusing on this upcoming release, let's just say I've already fallen in love with these new crew of characters. So, Coming Up Roses looks like it will be a new standalone novel in a new series by the brilliant Staci Hart. This novel releases in less than two weeks and trust me, if you are a fan of Staci's work, you don't want to miss it. This is an enemies-to-lovers romance (kind of) with a second-chance feel to it. Tess Monroe is loving her life and especially her job as a florist in the Bennet's flower shop. She loves everything about it, especially the Bennet family. Well, besides one person: Luke Bennet. Luke comes back to Longbourne to save the family business and he is surprised to find a Tess that seems to hate him. Does she really? Well, read the book and find out! He had been designed to entice and did so at his leisure. As easily as he lured you in, so easily would you be consumed. And I had no desire to be consumed. The first words that come to my mind when I think about Coming Up Roses are sweet and funny. The novel is extremely focused in the interactions between its couple and the Bennet family, who are obviously based on Austen's characters. The back and forth and the strong connection between all the members in the Bennet family surely melted my heart. I love family dynamics in romance and this one was simply amazing! Never before had I been so unsure of where I stood with a woman. And never had I been so certain of where I wanted to stand. Beside Tess. But now let's focus on our main characters: Tess and Luke. This couple! GAH! Their instant connection after many years of not seeing each other surprises them both, especially Luke. Tess had a huuuuge crush on him back in the day and she is actually pissed that Luke does not remember kissing her one time during a very difficult moment. The woman definitely makes him pay! But Luke is such a good man that it takes him no time to win Tess back. The chemistry between these two was on point and I thoroughly enjoyed all their moments together. It was as if she were composed of flowers. Roses, red and thorny, delicate and dangerous. And somehow, I’d eased my way through the brambles to lose myself in the velvety beauty of her. So, I am rating Coming Up Roses with 4.5 STARS because Staci already has easily worked to get these characters in my heart. I loved Luke, Tess, the Bennet family, Tess’ father.. everyone! I loved the whole family and I do hope Staci writes more about them because they are a fantastic crew: loving and super hilarious! And of course her couples are so good and sweet and I want more! Highly recommend reading this one! CHECK OUT MY BLOG HERE:

She's worked there since high school and feels as if Mrs. Bennet is her family. But when Luke Bennet comes waltzing in, ready to save the shop from going out of business with his siblings, Tess is anything but happy. Luke is used to doing whatever he wants and using his charm to get his way, but he hurt Tess in the past and she's not ready to forgive him that easily. I have to say, the whole premise of a family trying to save their floral shop was so stinking cute. I loved how everyone in the Bennet family had their own role and Luke could use his skills from his numerous past jobs to help out. It was fun watching them completely redo the flower shop, which forced Tess and Luke to work together, even though Tess hated him. Luke had such a lively personality and it was nice to see him take something seriously and break down Tess's walls. I will say, I'm not a huge fan when malicious people are the thing keeping a couple apart. There as an obviously manipulative character that Luke just kept letting affect his decisions and I was really annoyed. And so was Tess. I think Tess having that conversation with him about that person, though, made it less annoying to me. Overall, this was a super adorable romance between two people who definitely had some misconceptions about one another. Their relationship was so sweet and I really hope the rest of the Bennet siblings get their own books!

”I wanted to build things for her and watch her face light up.I wanted to surprise her, wanted to give her the unexpected. I wanted to discover her, and I wanted to live in every little joy that discovery would bring. But I wanted more than just that. I wanted to be the man she didn’t believe me to be.” Ahhh Luke Bennet. Whoever said bad boys have all the appeal, they forget that a man whose only purpose is bringing life and light into your life can be e-ve-ry-thing. And that’s exactly ”I wanted to build things for her and watch her face light up.I wanted to surprise her, wanted to give her the unexpected. And that’s exactly what Luke Bennet’s character was all about. Coming up Roses is book 1 in what will be a series based on a role reverse retelling of Austen’s Bennet sisters. This is Luke’s story, who is based on Lydia Bennet’s character. But I gotta tell you, while I saw a few traits of Lydia in his character, to me, he was pure and unapologetic sunshine. The series starts with all the Bennet brothers and sister - the only one that won’t be role reversed - that come back home to save their parent’s business. The Longbourne Flower Shop is the Bennet legacy after being passed down from one generation to the next, filled with history, memories and soul. And now it’s on the hands of the the younger generation to return it to its time of glory. But the brothers and sister return doesn’t make everybody as happy as Mrs and Mr Bennet. Tess, who has been taught by the Bennet matriarch all she knows about floristry, is not thrilled to have irresponsible and hot-headed Luke back. Or at least that’s what she thinks at first. Because that boy she has known for more than ten years might not be all she thought him to. The man before her could be exactly the little pinch of life she wasn’t aware she needed. Tess and Luke’s story was a delight to witness. To say these two are complete opposites would be putting it lightly. That in addition to the fact that Tess has been marinating some hurt feelings for about ten years, is the perfect recipe for fun banter, sparks and the best kind of chemistry. The thing is that the more Tess showed her dislike for Luke, the more he would make it his only task to show her how wrong she was about him. And of course, despite Tess’ reticency to let Luke in, this man made of light, positivity, energy, charm and good looks managed to find a way. Coming up Roses is fun, heartwarming, sexy and unapologetically cute. And hey, if that doesn’t seem enough to read it, just do it for the image of a man with the biggest heart and the brightest smile holding power tools while being gloriously shirtless. You are welcome. *eArc provided by the author in exchange for an honest review

I knew it was just me because I'm such an emotional reader and I had just finished reading a slew of paranormal romances. Changing gears and reading a contemporary romance took me a little adjusting to. I liked this story. I liked the characters. Luke who lived free, tried anything once, put on the front that he was carefree and lived easy, but who really was sensitive, loyal, compassionate, and honourable. Tess who liked structure, lists, routine and consistency. She's was terrified of loss and being hurt but once she loves, she's loyal, compassionate, and loving. These two characters complimented one another once they sorted themselves out and got on the same page. Wendy's character was a mess and added just the right amount of angst to the story without taking away from Luke and Tess's story. But, what I had a hard time with was the solution Tess and Luke's mom came up with to help Wendy. Don't get me wrong I'm all for forgiveness and moving on with your life, and tough love, but there's no way "I" could ever or would ever have been okay with this solution. It took Tess a couple of days to come to terms with how she felt and how she would proceed with Luke. I just thought that this solution happened too fast and was too easily accepted. (I do understand that for the sake of the story that there wasn't a lot of time.) What really stuck in my mind was this (and this is totally my personal opinion). (view spoiler)[ Working every day with Wendy at the flower shop and teaching her skills, offering her job security and benefits after she lied to Luke and tried to trap him by saying that the baby she carried was his. She did this because his previous actions always told her that she could manipulate him and that he would come running. He was reliable, honourable and would always be there if the baby was his. Had she not been caught she would have totally been fine with living this lie when her actions could have destroyed both Luke's and Tess's lives. I understand there was mental illness involved, but she still has to be accountable for her actions. There's also the fact that she mentioned oh so nonchalantly before she knew that Tess and Luke were together that she and Luke "did it" on almost every surface of the workshop. Some things can't be unknown. (hide spoiler)] This was a good story. I liked the characters and the writing

Tess was endearing but the complete opposite of Luke in almost every single way. She definitely has her hurt pride and prejudices against Luke, and they are not unfounded. I did find their chemistry authentic. I like that Luke made Tess more outgoing and willing to take risk, and in exchange Tessa made Luke more settled and responsible. While the plot was not really filled with large surprises I was drawn in by the retelling of Pride and Prejudice. I thought her rendition of the Bennett family was spot on. I love the carefree nature of Luke as the youngest Bennett, the love arduous Mrs. Bennett, and even the father. I cannot wait to see what she does with the rest of the series. Entertaining, romantic, filled with fantastic prose, Staci Hart's coming up roses is another must read in the romance world. ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

It was so much fun seeing their relationship blossom as it was pretty tumultuous when they first got together again. This is due to a former misunderstanding, a shared kissed that may have happened while under the influence. Overall, I enjoyed this one! I loved how family played a role in the story as well as the setting within the flower shop that needs help staying open! Poor Tess had a lot of things going on in her life and with worrying about the shop and Luke's intentions it wasn't easy for her. But Luke made everything FEEL easy to me and I adored him! Tess loves flowers but hates Lucas Bennet. She is a reserved girl who started working in a flower shop when she was in high school till now and that's where she met Lucas, the son of the owner, the person who kissed her years ago and forgot the next day, the one who broke her heart and the one who is completely opposite of what she is . he is trouble His lips said he’d come home to help save the shop, but his history said otherwise. When all the Bennett kids arrive at their flower shop to help as it"s stake and their parents needs support even though they dont express it, Lucas aka Luke meets his ex friend Tess. He doesnt know why she hates him neither does he remember doing something wrong with her but either way he cant stand someone not liking him because everyone loved Lucas Bennet. Working together is a challenge for them but Lucas is determined to know the reason behind Tess"s hate towards him mostly cuz he is attracted to her and likes her to an extent. But when everything sorts out between them and they start a relationship together, that's when his ex wife shows up. There was nothing in the world like adventure. There was nothing so sweet as discovery. let me just start off by saying that I hate detailed writing but oh my god! This book! the writing of this book might be the first ever that i actually liked. it was fully detailed and i loved every second of reading it. it was fun and it also compared with certain things which made it more entertaining to read. "Luke had returned with his stupid, perfect ass and his pizza bod. You know the kind—broad shoulders, narrow waist that pointed to some spicy pepperoni you’d just love to get in or around your mouth." occasionally I hate most of the author"s writing and most of the 4-5 stars I give are based on the plot and the chemistry but this book"s rating is predominantly based on the writing cuz I am literally obsessed with it. Dont get me started with the chemistry cuz oh my god! it was hot and hot! if you follow my reviews you might know that how hard it is for me to find chemistry between the characters, I legit didn't find chemistry between jack and rose from titanic, so guess what... anyway. I loved Lucas, he is a playboy but he respects women and surely is against cheating, he is legit every girl"s dream guy and he is just so perfect. The plot was predictable, like I knew what was going to happen next cuz the it is too common and that's why I was losing interest but the writing style bound me to the book. The plot twist was also very predictable cuz thats what happens when you have an ex ( no spoilers, read the book and you will understand). . I didn't want Tess to forgive Luke so easily even though he didn't do anything but Tess was too emotional kinda girl, too sentimental which I hate but I adored her for her creativity. Did I mention about the Bennett brothers? cuz they literally lightened up the book by their bonding and support to Lucas. highly recommend to read this book! I could be friends with Luke Bennet, so long as he never wanted to kiss me again. chemistry- ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ plot- ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ hero- ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ heroine- ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ family- ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ friends- ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ sexual tension- ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ sex- ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ writing- ♥️♥️♥️♥️ book cover- ♥️♥️♥️ - MIFTAHUL

As much as I adore Staci, I can't finish this one. DNF at 38%. It really comes down to the characters. While I don’t really care for either of them, our main character Tess just really rubbed me the wrong way. There is a fine line between sassy and exasperating and she crossed it. Also, I just couldn’t find any passion between her and Luke. Maybe they found it later in the story, but I can’t read anymore to find out. Don’t get me wrong. A nice standard romance book. Nothing wrong with it but it didn’t stand out. I will continue reading this series as long as it’s available on Kindle Unlimited.

4.5 stars. I will admit to being on team Tess in the beginning. Luke seemed like an immature flighty f**kboy. I was worried how the book was going to progress. But then he showed his real self and like Tess, I totally fell in love! I am looking forward to more of the Bennets and Longbourne Flower Shop.

Seriously, this story was so dreamy and cute. I love books where I get to see a whole project come to life, whether it's a bakery, a coffee shop or a flower shop like this one. I mean, who doesn't love flowers?! And watching it all come to life is amazing and imagining how things looked made it even more special. And Luke and Tess were a dream team, watching them work together had me all excited. Their ideas, the team work, the support. Gah! I loved them. I died over watching Tess getting to know the real Luke and not the bad guy she made him out to be over that one night all those years ago. There is so much more to Luke than meets the eye. He totally stole my heart. The whole family did. I hope the rest of the Bennet siblings will get their own story! Coming Up Roses is filled with laughter, love and dreams coming to life. It's a story that will warm you up and have you swooning left and right. Tess and Luke bring on the heat, first with their fiery banter and then with their impossible to resist chemistry. It's not all fun and roses though, Staci also brings us an emotional punch that tests our couple's love. And she does it all in her brilliant and beautiful writing style. I highly recommend this book. It's fun and entertaining, it's sweet and romantic. It has the most fun characters that you will not get enough of. He's insufferable, immature, frivolous, nothing like her organized, studious, safe self and yet something is there between them still. What starts as a project to remake the store, to bring in the sales, turns into self exploration and a little bit of funny business. She wants to hate him, to keep the feelings from ten years ago, but Luke has a way of charming just about anyone, a way of bringing out her wild side just like the plants she loves so much. "'Not in a million years would I trim that beat back. Let her be wild.' 'It's good advice, Tess. You could stand for a little more wild in your life.'" I often bring up in my reviews how much I cried, how much your heart will be gutted, or how you'll need to grab tissue before you begin, I just have a type of book I like, I guess. While I did cry reading Coming Up Roses, come on I'm a blue I always cry, it was a different sort of cry. This book is just beautiful and heartwarming, the kind of story that makes your eyes tear up because you're just so happy. It's a story of family, friendship, love, and forgiveness. It's a retelling, a spin off from Staci Hart's The Austen Series, that follows Luke Bennet and his family as they set out to save their family's flagship flower shop. At the center of Longbourne Flower Shop is Tess, the brains behind the arrangements and the one woman Luke hasn't been able to connect with since their friendship went up in silent flames ten years prior. Luke and Tess are forced together by proximity, but the romance of flowers, the rush of chemistry they share, all adds to love potion that's long been brewing. "When he'd told me he was mine and asked me to be his. And forgotten he'd ever uttered the words." Oh my word, how I loved Luke and Tess, these two are certainly a perfect match. Told from their dual perspectives, we see the two tackle the awkwardness of working together and the internal havoc they go through in denying their lust. There's flowers, assumptions, contempt, and backhanded compliments galore. I spent this first half of Coming Up Roses just laughing, loving the banter, loving that it was all happening inside a flower shop. Luke's always been the flighty player, Tess is a stuck in her ways mother hen. While Tess has a distaste for frivolity, she also wonders about the adventure, about the trip he'd take her on as he sets out to redesign the shop, one shirt pulled off at a time. It's obvious they need to be together, but I loved the way Staci Hart brings them together. It's more than just connection, there's this whole world inside Coming Up Roses that follows the characters through interactions with family, friends, customers, and more. It isn't just a simple romance read, there's so much more to it. It's the sort of book I could read again and again. "There was a kiss waiting on those lips, waiting for time to start again. There was a kiss on those lips, one I wanted." With beautiful imagery, stunning prose, and just the right amount of humor, Staci Hart re-imagines Pride and Prejudice with Coming Up Roses. In this story, The Bennets own one of New York's biggest and oldest floral shops and greenhouses, called Longbourn. The shop is not doing well and all the siblings who moved away are back to help and that's where Luke steps in. Tess who's been working at the shop for quite a while has a thing for him and they have a bit of shared history that Luke doesn't remember and that makes Tess very angry. Luckily, it doesn't take Luke long to help her get passed that and begin their very sweet romance. However, things don't stay sweet for long. Enter the ex and all that drama...and there's a lot. I quite enjoyed Tess and Luke together and I was happy with the way things worked out for them. What was a bit unbelievable was what Tess did with the ex. Yea, I don't think so. I also really enjoyed getting to know the siblings and wouldn't mind a story or more about them.

Ever since he broke her heart and forgot the kiss they shared all those years ago she's been harbouring some bitter feelings. Tess hasn't had it easy. The floral shop is her life. That's all she's ever known. Being the primary caregiver of her invalid father, she has a lot of responsibilities and not many opportunities to be wild. “Be wild. Because life is lived in the moments you don’t see coming. Not in the comfort of predictability, but in the thrill of the unknown.” Luke on the other hand is the opposite. He's had many jobs and is very carefree. He's the youngest of the Bennets and the troublemaker. He lives for the next adventure. The world is his oyster. He knows just how to get his way with his charm and swoonworthy smile. Through Luke, Tess learns to spread her wings and fly. To not be afraid. These once best friends must work together to bring life back to Longbourne. What started off as dislike soon turns into love. Coming Up Roses by Staci Hart was a wonderful standalone romcom re-telling of a classic Jane Austen love story. Filled with angst and fun, sweet and sexy moments, you won't stop turning the pages until you've reached the end! Also, Luke happens to be shirtless a lot. If that doesn't entice you to read this book, I don't know what will. 💐 *AN ARC WAS KINDLY PROVIDED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.*

”Be wild. Because life is lived in the moments you don’t see coming” I really don’t know where to begin and where to end. Everything about this book is harmonic and everything feels perfect to me: The pace, the slow-burn, the natural interaction of all characters, the emotions, the story-flow, the well dosed drama that lead to the angsty part of the story and on and on I could go with this. ”She was as familiar to me as she was a discovery, the girl I’d known, the woman I’d come to need.” I could picture each character so clearly, it was like watching a movie. I got caught by the realness of it all. The feels and most importantly the message this book carries. Maybe it was because I found myself so clearly in Tess and the way she lived her life, the cautious way she made sure not to get hurt and therefore didn’t take any risks. Tess is real, beautiful, thoughtful, cautious, caring, loving. She gives with all her heart and is afraid to live her life a little more adventurous. But who can blame her? Aren’t we all afraid to get hurt or afraid of consequences? I love the way the opens up naturally after Luke is back in her life. It’s like two puzzle pieces fall back in place together. Lucas is the perfect example that you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. You only see the top of the iceberg and you underestimate its depth. Can someone bake me a man like Lucas? I’d really like to meet him and fall in love with him. Not to mention on how Tess and Luke compliment each other. They balance each other perfectly. Where Tess needs to get more wild, Luke shows her how to live a litte. And where Luke needs more stability learning to be dependable, Tess gives him exactly what he needs. Everything comes to them naturally and they just live with the flow without realizing it. ”Love happens in moments.” All I can say is that Staci Hart has outdone herself with this book. I loved her books before but non of them spoke to me like this one here did. Please go and meet these wonderful characters and get surprised on how quickly they grow on you, touch every fibre of your heart. ”In this man was a heart too big to contain, with patience and love beyond the bounds of comprehension. And he was mine.” Coming Up Roses is a beyond beautiful book with a strong message that effortlessly made it on my list of favorite reads this year!

I am never surprised at the depth of love I feel for Staci Harts storytelling. I always think " once again, this is why I became such a book lover". So always astounded I'm even further astounded at how Staci takes inspiration from a Jane Austen novel and gives it just the right wink and a nod so that I get the same feels with an entirely different story. The Bennets reinvented give us a whirlwind of a young man in Luke. When he returns to the Longbourne Family Flower Shop after a ten-year and a couple of thousand-mile separation, he does so with panache. After the immediate groping and mortification of Tess Monroe, Luke settles into his role as savior and instigator of ruffled feathers. Specifically Tess' feathers. No, she is none too pleased to see Luke and to revisit the hurt feelings he inflicted on her as a teenager. But Luke is nothing if not tenacious and winning Tess over becomes the end game. I loved these characters and their path to each other. Tess is simply delightful and shares Lukes unfailing brand of loyalty, even if Luke's is misplaced. His adventuresome spirit is both attractive and scary to her. It's clear Luke needs the right kind of woman to balance him out and in Tess, he may have found her. But it will be an uphill battle as he fumbles to get past his past. But if anyone has the charm to woo her over it's Luke. Also, delightful were all the lovely descriptions about the Longbourne Flower Shop, and who hasn't dreamed of working shop? This drove me to Pinterest and Instagram (oh the hardship) to research Cloud Flowers and window installations looking for what might have inspired the fictional Tess. With this said I'll close with my wholehearted recommendation and share a wonderful quote from the book that harkens to another century. “To all that’s old and new,” I said, smiling down at my mother. “May we be immortalized by the deeds we do and the love we give.” *I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*

And with this new series she’s given the classic Jane Austen story a fresh new modern twist that is just incredible. Lucas is the youngest sibling in the Bennet family. His lives for adventure and doesn’t take anything too seriously. A true free spirit at heart. But that’s about to change when he returns back home and needing to step up and help his family’s crumbling flower shop. And when he first arrives not everyone is happy to see his return, and let’s just say he doesn’t make quite the impression on Tess. Tess has known Luke her whole life. Along the way she developed a crush on him. Something happened that had Tess believing that it could mean something, but it only led her to view Luke differently. And now that he’s back she does everything to ignore him, but she can’t help but think about what happened and trying to mask how she really feels for Luke. Luke and Tess couldn’t be more opposite, but are so right together. Their chemistry is just so amazing. They’re both looking for something and ultimately find it with each other. Both taking the leap and going on the greatest adventure they’ll ever be on. Coming Up Roses gave me all the feels! Amazing story with outstanding characters and so many tender and heartwarming moments. I fell so hard for the endearing, charming, caring and loving Bennet family. What an incredible start to a new series by Ms. Hart. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
