A really promising start to this short series. Lays down a lot of interesting plot lines, as well as balancing those of which were left in the aftermath of the end of S2. It's given the characters their authentic voices, and you can hear them speak through the pages. Baby Spock is the cutest, forever. (sobs) I'm hopeful that the plot is more inspired than past tie-ins, but I'm left wondering how they're going to wrap this up in so few issues. But as it stands, I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to more. I think this is more a 3 and a half, rounded up. I wasn't blown away by it, but again, it's really promising and I think it does a lot of things right. The art is gorgeous, and really captures the live action portrayals well, including defining facial expressions. A bit of the colour work is over-blended and noticeably inconsistent at points, but that's nit picking. The tones are really nice.

A great intriguing little start! The voice in this was perfect. I could hear each character's voice reading the words in my mind, which is a testament of good writing and the talent of the actors in Discovery. I'm curious to see where this will go! Also, I'm with Number One. I love Spock's beard.
