“Have you been thinking about me, too?” This was such a fast, cute and floofy read. I usually always enjoy Cosway's work and Happy-Go-Lucky was no exception. It was something I cuddled up to with my coffee in the mornings and found myself smiling more often than not. _______________ Banter and Blunders Whilst I enjoyed HGL, it does come with certain cliche and cringey moments. We have our main character Maisie who I thought would grate on my nerves after a while, but I actually ended up rooting for her during my reading process. We have our main character Maisie who I thought would grate on my nerves after a while, but I actually ended up rooting for her during my reading process. Cameron was someone I ended up liking as Maisie got to know him more and I think both this aspects together completely sold the character development for me! HGL is definitely a light read with very tongue-in-cheek humor, and if you like a good-hearted office romance, you should definitely give this a shot! The banter between Cameron and Maisie was at times cartoony but other times very adorable. My main issue with this story was that the 'mystery' didn't hook me as much as the romance did. I wish we got more of a gripping story arc because the potential was definitely there. As romance goes, this is completely a safe and comforting read -it's definitely more on the cute than sensual/sexy side... totally flew by! "But then Cameron was kissing me again, and I couldn’t think straight. His hands were all over me, and I felt his hunger in the way he groaned when he massaged my breast over the top of my clothes. I sensed his desperation, like his lonely heart yearned for mine even if he’d never admit it."

This was a fun read that had it all—an endearing Heroine, swoon-worthy Hero, some deliciously steamy moments, and a mystery that provided some entertaining intrigue and unexpected plot twists. This is why I’m so in love with L.H. Cosway’s writing!! Maisie Wilkins works as a researcher at a private investigation firm. She loves her job and her solitary life. She always has a cheerful disposition and goes out of her way to please others because she can't stand the thought of anyone disliking her. On the night of her office Christmas party, she decides to make an effort to interact with Cameron Grant, her gorgeous but severely anti-social co-worker. She never expected to end up in his bed later that night. Fearing the possibility of becoming fodder for office gossip, Maisie asks Cameron to agree to forget they ever slept together. For some reason, she has it in her head that people think of her as a joke and that there’s no way someone like Cameron could ever have feelings for her. She couldn’t be more wrong. When Maisie is offered a promotion at work to become a private investigator, she asks Cameron to be her mentor. The ability to keep things platonic during Maisie’s training proves to be almost impossible for the both of them. Throw in the difficulties of keeping their romance a secret in the office along with being immersed in a complex and dangerous case, this story was well and thoroughly entertaining. I loved how while Maisie and Cameron might have seemed to be polar opposites, their differences made them fit like two perfect puzzle pieces. They helped each other to step outside of their comfort zones. I know that readers are going to fall in love with these characters. Any mention of a man and she got a very specific look in her eye, like a mother in a period drama with a spinster daughter she was eager to marry off. “You know, you might be right. I probably should stop bringing donuts to the office. They say sugar can have an adverse effect on testosterone levels. Oh,” I smacked my hand to mouth like I’d just come to some dramatic realisation. “That might be why you’re all standing around here gossiping and bitching about me like a bunch of old ladies.” I was falling for this man, drowning in the sea of him and there was no swimming back to the surface… With Cameron, it was like there were more feelings inside of me than my body was capable of holding. And when he asked me what my favourite spice was, I said Sporty. I think that’s where the date started to go downhill… He smiled at me, the sort of rare smile that made you believe you were hearing angels sing. My Review: This was a fun and wryly amusing read featuring an office romance where opposites attract and create a beautiful result where the whole is greater than the parts. Cameron was exacting in his work while tetchy and uncaring of how other people regarded him, while Maisie was an optimist who bent over backward in her constant efforts and concern in pleasing others. I adored their storylines, blossoming romance, and quirky office dynamics. Ms. Cosway’s engaging writing was entertaining, well balanced, insightfully observant, and loaded with clever wit and stealthy levity as well as a few delectable scenes of sizzling sensuality. She also had me Googling ASMR, something I’d never taken note of before, which led to falling into a YouTube wormhole while experimenting with various video mavens until I shook myself loose. Funny how that happens…

L.H. Cosway never disappoints! I've been in a bit of a book funk lately but Happy-Go-Lucky easily pulled me out of it. Maisie is a charming, endearing heroine, while Cameron is a somewhat broody, grumpy but likeable hero. No one writes chemistry quite like L.H. Cosway, and these two have it in spades. Humour, sexy romance, and the mystery subplot kept me hooked from start to finish! LOVED IT.

(ARC provided by author) -With Cameron, it was like there were more feelings inside of me than my body was capable of holding. What I felt for him was transcendent, too big and intangible to even put into words. Maisie Wilkins works as the primary researcher at a private investigation firm in the seaside town in England called Torquay. She’s friendly, kind, and constantly cheerful. Her childhood nickname was Happy-go-Lucky, and she was a people pleaser who others often tried to take advantage of. She considered herself slightly awkward, generally uninteresting, but a good person. Her love life had been pretty boring for a while, but she did have a work crush on the head investigator at her firm. She’d admired Cameron Grant from afar for years, and he’d often starred in her fantasies. He was quite handsome, and her attraction to him had always been harmless since she assumed he’d never be interested in her. When Maisie attends the annual office Christmas party, she is shocked to see Cameron there. He never shows up for functions, and doesn’t socialize with co-workers. He’s usually cranky, and keeps to himself. He’s intimidating, and a bit terrifying, but when Maisie notices he’s sitting all alone, she decides to be polite, and sit with him. They are complete opposites, but somehow they have some conversation, a few drinks, and end up back at his place. They spend an unforgettable night together, and then have to navigate working together. Maisie can’t afford to jeopardize her job, but she can’t deny how badly she wants her sexy, co-worker with an attitude. -There was something mesmerizing about Cameron. -It wasn't often that people riled me, but it seemed this man had a knack for it. -However much he might frustrate me in real life, when Cameron kissed me, I forgot all about how aggravating he could be. -He'd kissed me like he was starved for it. Happy-go-Lucky by L.H. Cosway is a sweet, funny, steamy workplace romance that’s captivating and delightful. Opposites attract and we get a story packed with chemistry, mystery and suspense. I really enjoyed this book and loved Maisie’s character and how she evolved throughout the story. ***NOW AVAILABLE*** https://amzn.to/2TIqIPl

This was such a fun, sweet, smexy read that I could not put it down! Maisie is that perky person in the office that always brings doughnuts, is always smiling, and never seems to have a problem in the world. But inside, she’s insecure and in need of acceptance from those around her. Too many gin and tonics later and suddenly Mr. Grumpy is anything but and Maisie is searching for her lost bra during her morning after escape. I absolutely loved Maisie. She was definitely the type of person that brings sunshine into the room but she wore her feelings on her sleeve. Her character was so well written I could totally identify with her as I saw several of my own fears and insecurities within her. The fact that she grew in confidence to overcome some of her “easy pushover” tendencies and learned to stand up for herself was inspirational. Maisie felt real to me as did her actions and reactions towards Cameron. Nothing about her felt contrived or over the top. She was a heroine that had faults and while she might dwell on them at times, she was smart enough and strong enough to recognize them and try to change. While we never get Cameron’s point of view, the author was able to convey through his own minimal awkwardness, frustrations or loss of words, what he was feeling at times. I would’ve loved to have known exactly what he was thinking because I do believe he often wanted to shout “Mine!” to the world but was unable to do so, constrained as he was by a promise he made to Maisie. Even as the heroine was evolving into a stronger, better her, Cameron too was changing. He was learning to let go of the iron grip he had on life and allow himself to enjoy life, smile, and open his heart up. For a hero who started out as a real jerk, he quickly stole my heart. Everything about this book was fun, sweet and steamy. As this couple work together to solve a mystery, they struggle with keeping things between them professional. It was quite amusing to watch them fight against the chemistry they felt each time they were together. Despite their battle, this was not an angsty read. There was no push and pull, no real relationship drama. Just two people trying to figure out how to manage a relationship within the workplace while keeping it a secret. The mystery portion of the story was multi-layered and had some twists that I never saw coming. I kept expecting a big violent showdown, as is the norm in a lot of books, but not here. This is a realistic story involving what could be a realistic crime and two people who work the clues to solve it. Overall, I loved the refreshing feel of this book. It never felt heavy or weighted down, the pace flowed smoothly and kept me engaged throughout its entirety, and the secondary characters supported the story as well as the hero and heroine. Simply put, this was a feel good, mystery romance with a bit of a slow burn (after this couple’s one night stand) that will carry you away to another world and leave you smiling in the end. Can Maisie manage then tension of seeing the man she slept with every day at the office? And will their fling turn into more? I loved Maisie and Cameron right from the start. She was absolutely lovely, her sweet and bubbly personality was infectious, and she’s also super smart. Cameron was her complete opposite personality wise. He’s a complete grump but equally clever and observant. I really enjoyed their slow burn office romance and how much they rubbed off on each other. He helped her be more assertive and turned into a swoon worth hero. The P.I. backdrop this romance unfolded in also provides intriguing mysteries, wonderful secondary characters with interesting office dynamics, and topics of interest such as environmental responsibility and the importance of being accountable for one’s actions. DNF @80% I cannot continue with this book. Its very repetitive and boring. One of my biggest pet peeves in books is when the author intentionally drags out the suspense of the H and h finally getting together. It also had some office drama, but honestly I could have done without that. There were parts to this book that I really enjoyed and liked reading, but there were also parts that had me rolling my eyes and wanting to punch certain characters. Maisie didn't start out as the best heroine for me and it was hard to connect with her in the beginning when she was trying way too hard to make her co-workers like her. It was like Cameron said, she was just too happy. But the more I read and the more time she spent with Cameron, the more I appreciated her character and started to like her. The mystery I liked a lot and I really enjoyed that there were moments that shocked me. I do wish that the mystery went with the romance more, though. It felt like there were times that this was strictly a mystery book and then other times if was more like a forbidden office romance, and not many times where they mixed together. Separately I enjoyed both of those storylines but since it was all one book I would have liked it they actually went together more than they did.

I'd like to know more about second characters from this book. Hope author will write more books about them, especially Ellen's and Julian's story. "I dont see the merit in lying. I've been lied to in the past and it didnt turn out well for anyone involved." "Cameron exhaled heavily. "The problem is i like seeing you way to much." "Oh". The air left me for a second as his attention lowered to my mouth. He gripped my elbow and rested his other hand at my hip. "I like seeing you, Maisie. Not being able to touch you is the problem.". If you are in the mood for some feelgood office romance this book is for you. There was just enough of cuteness but also some mystery that kept my interest to read more. I love opposites attract as a trope because of that sweet reader's satisfaction of learning together with characters that we are not that much different and also how our presumptions about other people are so wrong. And this book delivered that. I would say I am more of a Cameron then Maisie. It was hard to relate to that happy go lucky nature. But she wasn't annoying which surprised me. Moreover, I was surprised by how brave she was at times. I loved the subtle way of how the book deals with workplace harassment and overall work experience. At times authors tend to be preachy with topics like this, but not this book. I would love to read more books with other side characters that we meet in this book *cough Theo *chough. *Thanks to the author for the copy of the book in exchange for an honest opinion ( all opinions are my own except playlist which I made based by authors Spotify list for those of us who don't have access to that platform)

Reading the whole polished and edited novel was a delight. This is an office romance that started out as a one night stand at the office Christmas party. With a little too much to drink by both party's, one thing lead to another and soon Maisie and Cameron were back at Cameron's apartment unable to take their hands off one another. Cameron is an Investigator for a Private Investigator Firm and Maisie is a researcher for that firm. When Maisie is offered an opportunity to be trained as an Investigator (because she's smart and has got stellar instincts) things get extremely complicated between Cameron & Maisie because now Cameron is requested to train her. The attraction is real. The chemistry is scorching. Cameron and Maisie are on a case that soon reveals more than they bargained for and the stakes become high. As they spend more time together, they both realize that what started out as a one night stand has developed into something worth exploring and both want. Their only goal now is to solve the case and wait until Maisie's training is done so they can be together. Wonderful story, great writing, and amazing characters. "I voluntarily read an ARC of this book."

2,5 🤔 🐌 ⭐s The romance and angst were almost non existent! Although Cameron and Maisie were great characters, their relationship developed at a snail’s pace. The writer tried to balance the aspects of mystery and romance, but the whole story for me felt flat and with no sparks. 2,5 🤔 🐌 ⭐️s The romance and angst were almost non existent! This woman. It’s really hard not to like Maisie, even when you’re scratching your head at how she chooses to handle certain situations, because she truly is a good person. I loved her quirks and how strong she was, even when she didn’t see it. Cameron is...well, yeah, grouchy. He’s blunt and, at times, a bit callous, but once the carapace of disinterest starts to crack, you find that he has a heart of gold, it may be a little bit tarnished, but it is a good one. Cameron and Maisie’s journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. On the surface they are opposites, but underneath it all, they actually aren’t as opposite as one would think. I loved their awkward moments as much as the moments that not only brought them closer, but made take a look at themselves and start to evolve into better versions of themselves. There are a few bumps in their road, but nothing OTT and I loved where they were at in the end. This really was a fun read. You get a little opposites attract, office romance, slow burn (to an extent) and a nice little bit of mystery/suspense added into the mix, which made for an engaging read. And as for the secondary cast of characters, they definitely ran the gamut, but I loved Nick and am crossing my toes that we’ll see him again, but am thrilled that Lilah will be getting her own HEA because we get a bit of tease at the end about it and it looks really good! Note: The author’s spotify playlist for this baby is AWESOME!!! ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~

They’re fun, feisty and vulnerable all at the same time, and we also love a good office romance, and boy were there some sizzling office dalliances between the grouchy, unsociable Cameron, and the happy, eager to please Maisie. We’ll never enter a stationery cupboard without getting all hot and bothered EVER again! “You know what I think?” he asked, expression intense. “What do you think?” “I think we both have a lot to learn from each other.” Centred around the medium-sized private investigation firm of James & Peterson Investigations, we meet thirty-year-old Maisie Wilkins, a researcher who is such a sweetheart. Maisie just wants everyone to like her. She’s friendly sweet, attentive, and this young lady doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. The thought of a co-worker being annoyed with her would send her into a spin. ‘I would much rather be like me and get hurt than be like Cameron and never be upset by anyone.’ Cameron Grant is the head investigator at the firm and the opposite of Maisie. He’s closed off, doesn’t mix or socialise with the other employees and pretty much glares at anyone who approaches him, and he couldn’t care less what his co-workers think of him, Cameron is also Maisie’s ‘work crush.’ “Is that what you do? You keep away from people so they can’t hurt you?” “No, I keep myself away from people because most people irritate me.” One drunken Christmas party sees Maisie go against everything in her personality by sleeping with Cameron – well, she was sozzled, and he is irresistible in that handsome cool way…so you can’t blame the girl! But… they must work together and put their moment of passion behind them. Yeah right…not with their chemistry!! ‘Cameron Grant? His affection was so rare. I imagined it must be wonderful to be on the receiving end of all the love I was certain hid behind his stoic, near impenetrable mask.’ Being this is set in a PI firm, there’s a bit of mystery and intrigue surrounding a certain case Maisie and Cameron take on which adds to the story. It’s a fabulous ‘whodunnit’ mixed into the romance that kept us on our toes, as Maisie and Cameron try to unravel a case that appears to have many layers. L H Cosway has written some of our favourite stories so it’s no wonder this lady is an automatic 1Click for us. In Happy-Go-Lucky she has delivered yet another heart-warming, romantic and sexy story with the subtlety that consistently draws us in. Whether it’s in the humour or emotion she injects into her stories, there is always a balance to the endearing way she brings her stories to life, never failing to spread warmth and happiness into our hearts. Yep, we LOVED this book. “You are relentlessly cheerful.” “And you’re relentlessly grumpy.” “We’re a match made in heaven.” Whilst we would’ve liked a little more time with Maisie and Cameron, we hope to meet them in the next book (about different characters), and we may have squealed with delight when we realised the connection to Fauxmance! Maisie’s bubbliness was part of her charm, but her intelligence was what I liked most. And while, Cameron was a grump, he was extremely observant and honest to a fault. However, even he couldn’t withstand Maisie’s sunshiny disposition:) The romance was subtle and slow, but very good! I liked the interactions-whether it was work or play-because I never knew if funny, steamy, or in the moment was coming up next- I just knew I’d be grinning like the Cheshire Cat! And as I understand both sides, some of Maisie's attitudes irritated me and made me want to get into the book and tell her to stop wanting to please everyone. I loved the relationship between Cameron and Maisie, I think the interactions between them is the way they were gradually changing and finding a middle ground as their relationship progressed. The interactions between them were fun, smart and romantic and it was impossible not to cheer for them. The secondary characters also added the story each in their own way, and at the end of the book I wanted to know Lilian's story. Happy - go Luck is a book that has romance, fun times and even a thriller in the background that made me cling to the story to the last page. I Received an unreleased copy of this book

Her cheery self finds it easy to engage in conversation. Her likening for a few tipples that night, finds her admiring more than what’s beneath his brusque exterior. I adored the development of Maisie and Cameron, where their opposite edges were aligned, each benefiting from the elements they learnt from each other. The dialogue is individual, injected by the quirky humour we know & love. Cast that onto a background of mysterious activities, and you definitely have a winner in my book. LH proves once again she is a queen of creating the imperfect character. Her ability to invent such interesting, multi faceted, diverse people is what makes her stories unique. I was excited to receive a complimentary copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review ”Imperfect people are the most interesting kind. They tell the best stories.”

When Maisie is offered a promotion, the two make a pact to forgo romance in favor of her training as a new investigator. However, their chemistry can't be denied, and the sexual tension is testing their resolve. There’s just something so special about Cosway’s characters! They’re endearing with the perfect amount of vulnerability. They are perfectly flawed and genuine. Maisie Wilkins and Cameron Grant both work at James & Peterson Investigations. She was the firm's researcher and he is the head investigator. They couldn't be more different. Always a smile on her face, she's the happy-go-lucky sort, where her glass is always half-full, and no matter the situation, she finds a bright side. His perma pissed off glare, along with his bark and build make him an intimidating man. Although gorgeous, he was grumpy, grouchy and anti-social. In short, they were perfect for each other. ❝With Cameron, it was like there were more feelings inside of me than my body was capable of holding.❞ Cosway has such a unique voice. I've not found another author who sounds like her. Her words flow beuatifully and effortlessly. A forbidden love story full of tenderness and passion, HAPPY GO LUCKY was the perfect weekend read! I was provided a review copy by the author; this did not influence my opinion of the book nor my review.

If you like your heroines sweet and your heroes stoic then Maisie and Cameron’s story is for you. Maisie, or Happy Go Lucky as her parents call her, is a researcher at an investigative firm who ends up sleeping with the hunk investigator of the office, Cameron. Though their one night together launches this opposites attract, office romance, they agree to keep their relationship professional when they begin working together which they soon learn is easier said than done. Maisie is the type of heroine I adore – the girl whom everyone overlooks EXCEPT the quiet, sexy man whom all her coworkers drool over. She initially comes across as a slight pushover but I love her transformation as she grows closer to Cameron. Cameron is the type of hero I eat up - someone who doesn’t show much emotion at first since he’s quiet, stoic and serious yet it’s when his tight control slips that we see his true feelings come out. He’s not overbearing or arrogant because that type wouldn’t jive with Maisie’s character. Instead he’s someone you want to crack open and keep all to yourself. If anything, I honestly wanted more of him as he seemed to be less of a focus as the story went on. I would overall categorize this book as chick lit because I saw more of Maisie’s overall transformation and because the story focused more on the mystery the two were investigating versus their budding romance. This was a bit different than what I was expecting given the book blurb and past Cosway books where the relationship development is front and center. I would have liked to have seen more focus on their angst with the struggle to stay apart instead of how they worked to solve the mystery but that’s just me and my taste since I’m not much of a mystery/romantic suspense fan. Even once they finally got together the story just moves right back to the mystery. A whole week goes by without a mention of them seeing each other again personally which just seemed odd given the build up to that moment. Cosway is a favorite author of mine because she excels at creating unique stories, characters and settings (circus performers, illusionists, parkour athletes, etc.) and she does the same in Happy-Go-Lucky in creating a unique mystery to solve. I honestly don't know how she came up with this who done it which had a lot of pieces woven together at the end. If you’re a big fan of mysteries or love opposites attract romances and office romances, then you’ll enjoy this book. **ARC received in exchange for an honest review**
