I know Dan Mora had to leave to work on Once & Future which I am so stoked about, but I miss his style on this book. Also, kind of bummed that the letters are a lot of dudes talking about Xander....

It was an interesting issue, focused around Willow's inner termoil and dealing with what she lost in the situation her and Xander. It will be interesting to see what part the events of this issue have on the wider story, or if it does at all. The artwork is very hit and miss though, it is sometimes very good, and other times the characters look nothing like they did the page before with malformed faces. It's a shame because the series started off with really good artwork.

This was a super, super weird issue. The only good part was the end. Otherwise, it would have been a total waste of time.

Oh god the eyes, why won't they stop haunting me? Again, not much story advancement, although I liked seeing more of Willow and Xander's friendship.

That played out like a movie in my head. Returning to my original complaint about this art. I do not like it bring back Dan Mora. The surprised eyes on every character. This is not how you convey emotion. I feel like I'm reading people in a simulation or something. Questions: So is Xander essentially like Angel now? If we're going off the original continuity (granted I haven't begun reading the Angel comics yet) and Angel is a vampire with a soul, Xander is......a half vampire with a half soul? This doesn't make sense to me but I also can't suspend my knowledge from the TV show so maybe that's my problem. Xander can be out in the sun? He's lollygagging and having fun in school while Willow battles the dark part of her soul? I did love little Willow and little Xander. It's a great reminder how connected they are. They've been best friends forever. Really puts into perspective why she was willing to sacrifice her soul for him.

Thankfully most of this issue wasn't illustrated by the current person... but what pages were, oh dear. PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE EYES THAT FAR APART!!! Also, Willow sharing her soul with Xander and her evil side is rearing, blah blah blah, nothing new, and what IS new, IE Xander being half vampire, they aren't even explaining or exploring that. Why is it with Buffy and Angel it's always been the case when one is good the other is bad? This is bad.

Really excited to see the short-term effects on Willow thus far, though I wish we’d been able to see a bit more of the process (and Calendar) last issue, and that we’d seen a little more from this issue outside of the moody oneiric stuff. Part of my problem with all contemporary comics is pacing, and reading these issues as singles isn’t helping me put any either.

Dang that gave me the feels They did it again. Willow and Xander has such a rad connection to begin with then you put this whole soul giving thing in the mix and Bam. Great issue. Definitely ready for the next one.

I need to start paying more attention to the end of these issues. The end of this issue is half the next issue! That forshadowing!

By far my favorite issue. Had few problems. Still not happy about Xander but many issues were left out with this one. :)

Hey did you know giving up half your soul is actually a pretty intense trauma? Willow knows now.

The new art is still freaking me out (those eyes!) but I love seeing Dark Willow in a new incarnation. I’m worried for Willow and Xander, but I can’t wait to see what comes next.
